Abstract

Tulisan pendek ini akan mencoba memaparkan makna jihad dan terorisme dengan menyertakan perbedaan sifat-sifat yang ada pada keduanya. Tidak dapat dipungkiri, tulisan ini bisa jadi merupakan satu dari sekian bentuk pemahaman terhadap kata jihad. Karena itu, tulisan ini tidak berpretensi untuk membuat pemaknaan tunggal tentang jihad. Namun demikian, untuk penyamaan persepsi mengenai pemaknaan terorisme, perlu dikemukakan bahwa acuan yang dipergunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah pengertian terorisme yang terdapat dalam Undang-undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 15 tahun 2003 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Terorisme Bab I pasal 1 ayat 1 dan Bab 111 ayat 6, 7, 8 dan 9 untuk kemudian diberikan ketetapan perspektif hukum Islam.
