Author Guidelines

 

Paper submitted to Jurnal Tarjih dan Pengembangan Pemikiran Islam should meet the following guidelines:

  • The theme is Islam and muslim, discussed from any academic perspective;
  • The title of the article submittd should reflect a specific focus of study;
  • The article submitted should be based on research --be it library or fieldwork or other kinds of researches;
  • The article should present bibliography which entails primary sources --books, manuscripts, interviews, or observation-- and updated secondary sources from books or peer reviewed journals;
  • The article should contain an argument/thesis/finding which contribute to scholarly discussion in a field of study which should clearly be mentioned and systematically presented in abstract, content, and conclusion;
  • The article should be linguistically good, either in bahasa Indonesia, Arabic, or English.

 

In additon, the author should consider the following technical aspects:

  • Papers’ length is about 8,000-10,000 words;
  • Submission must include a 100-150 word abstract;
  • Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution and email;
  • All submission should be in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format;
  • Arabic words should be transliterated according to the style of Official Indonesian Model (Ministry of Religious Affairs);
  • Bibliographical reference must be in footnote and bibliography with the Turabian Style. The authors are encouraged to use a reference manager, such as Zotero, Mendeley, et cetera; and the csl file for the Turabian fullnote style of  bibliography is available for download here.  

 

Publication Fee

Jurnal Tarjih dan Pengembangan Pemikiran Islam does not charge APCs, submission charges, or other fee. All processes of article publication are free of charge.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
