TELAAH BUKU Kontroversi Islam Awal
Abstract
Buku ini sebagai uji kritis terhadap kelompok Islam yang sering mengajukan slogan“kembali pada Islam murni” sebagaimana pada era salaf alsalih, yang belakangan dikenal dengan istilah Salafiy. Sesama kelompok Islam murni ini juga saling berbeda pendapat tentang siapa dan batasan historis generasi salaf al-salih tersebut, walaupun mereka sepakat tentang pentingnya mengikuti generasi salaf dimaksud. Buku ini mengajukan pertanyaan pokok yakni bagaimana bentuk dan watak Islam awal (Islamic origins) tersebut?. Secara metodologis karya ini juga ingin memperdebatkan antara “mazhab” keilmuan yang bercorak Tradisionalis maupun Revisionis, baik yang bersifat moderat maupun radikal dari kedua kubu metodologis tersebut.
